Character and the American People

I'd like to change the subject a bit though I'm sure we'll get back to politics. I can't help but be proud of the American people and how they responded to two important events on Labor Day. It seemed like everyone rallied to the support of the people in the Gulf States as Hurricane Gustav threatened to create a repeat of Hurricane Katrina three years ago. This was truly an example of the character of America rallying to the support of those in need. Kind, considerate, loving, generous..almost every positive character trait was exhibited. A great day for the nation. And at the same time, Jerry Lewis' MD Telethon was going on and the nation still showed its support with over 60 million dollars raised to help Jerry's Kids. And while both of these events were going on, our military continues to defend freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan and other parts of the world. Our goal as Little Rox was to bring peace, hope and security to the world through character development. I'd suggest that there's a lot of character being shown by America, wouldn't you?
