Financial Crisis

I open the newspaper and what do I read: "A Republican rebellion stalled government efforts Thursday to reach a deal on a $700 billion dollar financial industry bailout proposed by the Bush administration. The summit broke up so bitterly that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson got down on one knee before Democratic leaders in a theatrical attempt to salvage talks." Actually, guys and gals, this is really distressing that politics is playing center stage in this issue. It's like a group of doctors standing around an operating table arguing while the patient bleeds to death. It's time that our elected officials showed some character, got rid of their petty partisan politics, and worked together to solve the financial crisis rather than using it for political positioning. This is as much a matter of standing up for what is right and what is good for the country and the world as it is the upcoming campaigns. Let's take politics out of this right now and solve the problem - or put people in office who can. That's what I say.
