Winston Churchill

I'm really impressed with your comments on the bi-partisan efforts to find a solution to the economic crisis, Shist.  While the solution is not a perfect one and could present problems in the future, it is a solution nevertheless.  Finding the solution was the immediate problem, putting into place systems, procedures, oversights, safeguards to prevent it happening again is what our elected officials, at all levels, must do.  I am reminded by a quote from Winston Churchill, "Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen."  Members of the House and Senate all had their time at the podium to talk, but for once, they sat down and listened to what the American people had to say about the mess they made of our economy and that they were the blame for many/most of the problems that "Main Street" faces today.  Come November, when you walk into the voting booth, you might remember that when making your choice.  Perhaps this is a wake up call that incumbency should not be automatic.  How say you all?
