I couldn't believe what you wrote Basalt. You missed my point completely. I have not taken the character issue out of this campaign at all. But I think the American people are excellent judges of character and that in the primaries they cast many millions of votes for the candidates of their choice. And the lives of the candidates have been an open book. If there is a character issue, let them address them face to face in the debates - have McCain look Obama in the eye and challenge him on his character - or have Palin look Biden in the eye and do the same thing. But to have these political action groups and special interest groups running ads attacking the characters of the people the American people have chosen to compete for its highest office and to smear them like they have is wrong. We have the classic case of the right vs the left in this election. One will win. The other will have to live with the results. I'm only saying that character is important - but the issues after all this time - should be who will solve the problems we have. None of the four are people of bad character in my opinion. See where I'm coming from?
