Well everybody, you have to admit that this was an historic week in the history of America, another shining example of the character of the American people. We have come a long way since slavery, the Civil War,
Ku Klux Klan, civil rights marches, and other racial injustices with the election of Barack Obama as the President of the United States. The world is taking a different view of America. And it has nothing to do with politics, the economy, the wars, education, healthcare - it has ALL to do with the character of the American people. This week, we've seen replays of Dr. Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream" speech. But, two decades before Dr. King made that remarkable speech, Eleanor Roosevelt said, The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." Dr. King believed. Barack Obama believed. And the American people - white, black, brown, yellow, red - young and old - male and female - believed also - and came together this week. John McCain is a decent man, a hero, and all that a good American can be - a man of principle and character - and while he lost - because he is what he is - he too must be very proud of his country. His efforts as relates to character and America first came through loud and clear. Now, let's us do what Mrs. Roosevelt suggested - and work hard so that the future will bring our dreams - good character traits that will help bring peace, hope and security to the world.
