Discernment

I don't think I've enjoyed these blogs more than the last few that you guys have been doing. This is a great idea.  I'd like to take a shot at Discernment - exhibiting great insight and good judgment.  I think that Abraham Lincoln exhibited discernment when he brought his major rivals into his cabinet and I think that Barack Obama is doing the same thing.  And how about Richard Nixon (he takes a lot of heat over Watergate) but he did send Henry Kissinger to China and opened up relations there and Ronald Reagan meeting with Gorbechev to help end the cold war. Tell me that was not great insight and good judgment.
I think that Roosevelt solving the problems of the depression showed excellent discernment with his decisions about social security, conservation and rebuilding our economic infrastructure.  Obama and Congress are being challenged right now and really do need good insight and good judgment as to how we bail ourselves out of this economic mess; a lot is depending upon them.  And Hillary Clinton will have a challenge also in repairing damaged relations and rebuilding relations with nations worldwide. The Middle East is a powder keg, terrorism is rampant worldwide.  Hopefully, she's up to the task on these big issues.
And hopefully, everyone who read these blogs will apply discernment to the problems  and decisions they make everyday.  With good insight and good judgment will come a better world. Do you agree?
