Generosity

Good blog Shist.  Very nice.  I thought I would take a shot at Generosity - being willing to give and not being petty with character and mind.  These are very tough times; it is easy to forget generosity as we concentrate on our own economic concerns.  But with people losing homes and jobs and with the problems being faced by not-for-profit organizations, generosity is needed now more than ever.  When you see a Salvation Army bell ringer, stop and make a donation. When you pass a Toys for Tots or Clothes for Kids
collection box, drop something in it.  When you hear about a food drive for the needy during this holiday season, dig down and contribute.  And rather than take for granted that everyone you know is doing well,
pay attention to small signs and big signs too and offer your assistance if you are in a position to provide it.
You see, just because the economy is not good right now doesn't mean that the needs of the less fortunate are any less. It means that the needs are greater and the sacrifices people make to help need to be a little more than in the past.  The US has always been the most generous nation in history providing assistance the world over in the form of foreign aid (your tax dollars) - and we continue to be.  Now, on an individual basis, not on a government basis, it is important that the most generous people in the world continue to provide help to those who need it.  And I have to say, I am enjoying these blogs.
