Spiraling Gas Prices

Mind if I change the subject guys? Have you noticed the spiraling gas prices worldwide? The OPEC countries are creating havoc and devastating economies, causing major problems, not only in the US, but in all industrialized nations. Not only has the price of crude oil skyrocketed for little or no reason, but the profits of the oil companies have risen as well. And what about the oil speculators? They are a third party to this tragedy in the making. Is not greed prevalent? Is there not a lack of compassion, understanding, morality, ethics at issue here too? Can the OPEC countries, the oil companies and the speculators not see what they are doing to the world with these outrageous prices? There is major hunger in the world, there have been natural disasters in China, the US and other countries; many countries have joined the war on terrorism. Governments are trying desperately to care for their people, but with the high oil prices, it has become increasingly difficult to generate the funds necessary to meet obligations and responsibilities. Airline travel has been disrupted with planes being grounded; the trucking industry is in disarray everywhere; food costs are rising dramatically; companies worldwide are laying off employees. It is shameful, and there is definitely an issue of character involved. What we need is some leadership that will define the problem and create some fast solutions. I have some ideas. Do any of you?
