Tombstones

I really liked your blog Breccia. We get a little serious here sometimes and it is always great to see examples of character development around the country and around the world. I happened to be reading a book the other day and saw an interesting quote from Charles Haddon Spurgeon...relating to character and rocks. I know Marble and his family are proud that they are the primary source of tombstones and leave such lasting memories of loved ones departed. Mr. Spurgeon said, "A good character is the best tombstone. Those who loved you, and were helped by you, will remember you when forget-me-nots are withered. Carve your name on hearts, and not on marble." Actually, I think you can do both. I think you should do both. Be of great character, kind, decent, generous, forgiving, all of our wonderful character traits - and then, when your time comes, it should be etched on your tombstone so that the memory will live forever.
Hope I'm not being too maudlin...but I thought this interesting.
